Every spring my 10 yr. old bing cherry tree produces flowers. After the petals fall, the fruit appear. After they reach the size of a pea, they turn mushy and fall to the ground, every year! What is the problem? Thank you.

RE: Bing Cherry Tree

Hi,

Not knowing much about the situation my first guess might be lack of proper pollination. Unless you have a self-pollinating variety, Bing Cherry trees require a 2nd sweet cherry tree in order to pollinate properly.

You might want to cross post your question on the fruit forum. The folks there know far more about fruit trees than i do.

good luck
