Hardiness zones confusion!

I live 18 km north and mid way between Belleville & Trenton which are on the north side of lake Ontario.

I think I am in the Canadian zone of 5b but am not certain. Can anyone tell me if that is correct and what is the US zone in comparrison?

    By this map I'd guess USDA says 4b. But its from 1990 and about to be revised.

    You are likely in Canadian zone 5a/5b or thereabouts, which is roughly equivalent to zone 4b USDA. If you get lots of snow in the winter you can likely grow most Can zone 5 plants and maybe even some zone 6 ones. There are never any guarantees in gardening, however.
