Hi! Just moved here from South Carolina and I am trying to get a fall veggie garden together. Any suggestions for books for my new zone? Or any suggestions for fall vegtables?

Thanks!

    Welcome to the north!

Fall harvest veggies include peas, broccoli, lettuce (leaf or bib), beets, radish and spinach. TC usually has a later fall due to the water moderating the temps. You should get started planting out now though if you're sowing seed.

Check the MSU extension web site for more detailed info on planting conditions in your area.

Littlefarmstudio -have you touched bases with the folks at the Community Garden on the Commons at the old State Hospital Grounds? Penny Krebiehl of Little Artshram and Sarna Salzman of SEEDS are very competent in this area. Their focus is on sustainable, organic gardening and community involvement. They will be partnering with us as we develop the area around the historic barns into a botanic garden, CSA gardens, community gardens and an art/permaculture program. Pretty exciting stuff.
