Luna Hibiscus

Hi, I wanted to know is it safe to plant my Hibiscus in my garden. I live in Ontario, Canada and we have some brutal winters here. I don't want to lose this plant. I was always told that Hibiscus were indoor plants. I know in Florida Hibiscus grow outside but the weather there is warm most of the time. This is such a beautiful plant and I don't want to lose it. Please let me know what I should do.

Thank you

RE: Luna Hibiscus

Luna Hibiscus is a variety of Hibiscus moscheutos, which is winter-hardy in a garden to about zone 5. So, if you're in zone 3, if will not survive the winter. If it's in a large pot, you could try to over-winter in a frost-free garage by a window.

The indoor/Florida Hibiscus is H. rosa-sinensis.
