Limelight hydrangea is dying!

I planted 3 limelight hydrangeas in a full sun this past spring. One of them is almost completely dead, one is fine and one is on the way out. The leaves are brown and curled and the flowers are turning brown. All have received the same care and watering and it doesn't appear to be a problem with bugs. What happened and will they come back next year?

Limelights are very hardy. They dont like wet feet. They can grow in part shade to full sun. My Limelights are in there pots without protection year around. I have one in a pot that only gets rain water and is ok. I think that yours are getting over watered or over fertilized.
