| I have six heliopsis plants that have bloomed heavily this summer. I just noticed that the stems just below the blooms are covered with tiny reddish brown bugs. What are these ? Will they permanently harm the plants ? Will they spread to other adjacent perennials ? |

| Heliopsis are prone to attracting red aphids. Other types of sunflowers such as those in the Helianthus family don't. Spray them with water or Safer's solution. |
