Delosperma cooperi or Cooper's ice plant

Anyone have experience with this plant in Chicagoland area? I read up on it and it appears to be a South Africa with similar properties to Sedium. I also notice that it can be invasive in some areas and do not tolerate poorly drained soil.

Has this been successfully grown in the Chicagoland area? Is it invasive? Will it overwinter? I assume that it does not tolerate shade? if I edge it, will it be contained?

Thanks.

Paul

i'm thinking in a protected spot it will do ok. but chances are in a really cold winter you will loose it-- but its not too $$$ to buy more and keep on going
