General info on Lake Superior area gardening

As a first time forum user, I am looking for a bit of insight into gardening along the shores of Lake Superior. Currently, I am a Colorado gardener - born and raised-(elevation 7,000', zones 3-5, heavy clay soils, semi-arid)-and as I know there are stark differences in growing conditions between my existing growing conditions and those of northern Wisconsin, I'd like to set myself up for success. I am a gardener by profession and passion and am looking for any information- specific or general, professional or hobby- that can help steer me in my pursuit of understanding the subtleties of growing in the Lake Superior shore climate. Also, if anyone can direct me towards local publications, extension offices, etc, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!!

Look for an extention office in the county you will be growing in .You already are used to a short grow season ,this will be shorter still .grow the early maturing varieties , designed for cold climates, but you allready knew that .
