Hibiscus transplanting

I just bought a house - a fixer upper - that hasn't had any outdoor maintenance for a few years. It was professionally landscaped at one point, but everything was horribly overgrown. In my attempts at trying to locate the front of my house I noticed two small shrubs with tags around their base. The tags say "Blue Hibiscus" and "Red Hibiscus". Needless to say I didn't rip these out. However, I want to move them eventually.
When is the best time to do this?...and how should I go about it?
Do I leave them until spring? Do I put them in pots now and bring them inside?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. |

| If they were my shrubs, I would wait till early spring to dig and only when the ground is workable (not too wet). It should be an easy job. Make sure you try to dig up as much as the root as possible and don't, DON'T let them dry out until they are reestablished. I'm guessing they are Rose of Sharon, they should recover quickly. |
