I see a few things out there bending to the ground.I sure hope my Red Cloak makes it,it is on the south side of the house. They do freeze, but was about 10 feet tall.I have lost some before but always had rooted cutting to take their place.Jessie

Good luck to everybody in Texas!
The weather in southeast MS has been continually cold but not freezing, cloudy with off and on light rain, and it's supposed to rain much more on Sunday. So far we've lucked out - no damaging winter weather. I'm a real tree hugger, so when I see all the destruction to the trees in Oklahoma, Texas, etc., it makes me sick - reminds me of hurricane damage.

RE: big freeze baton down the hatch

Seems like they keep telling us it's gonna freeze 'next week'. Said it again tonight. We did have some freezing weather a month or two ago, but since then they threaten, but it stays gray and drippy and sometimes really rainy but more often just drizzles, and stays in the upper 30s to lower 40s at night. Fine by me--we can use the rain, and some cold-ish weather is good for things that need it, and spring will come soon. Reminds me of one of my mother's favorite mantras--'tomorrow never comes.' I think that was for when I said I'd do something 'tomorrow'. Hope 'next week' never comes!
