I have N coerulea as of last fall, so it hasn't bloomed yet, but I have had N. gracilis for quite a few years. It blooms like the San Marcos site says for coerulea, but it doesn't self-sow. It does, however, walk all over the place, which is the reason it is known here as 'walking iris'. I like it a lot, tho' have to be extremely vigilant to keep it from taking over. So far the the coerulea is staying upright, but then it's the flower stems that bend over and root--if they follow the pattern!
