Purple Leaf Plum in the South?

"I live in Daphne Alabama is Krauter Vesuvius Purple Leaf Plum an okay tree for me? I have hydrangeas in another part of the yard that flourish but I wouldn't want to get it if it wouldn't do well in this climate"

I have one that is doing fine it is a real pretty tree but I have never gotten fruit have had tree for abought 7 years.Is a good ornamental.I did graft some other plums on it.looks funny with green leaves in two spots.haven't gotten fruit from grafts yet waiting.
