| Has anyone in or around Mobile tried to grow Imperial Star Artichokes? I'm trying to get moreinfo on how to grow them. My seedlings have four leaves now so I'm excited. We live near Mobile Bay. I'm wondering if this is going to be a major flop or a great success! |

I'm on the coast of Texas. One of the gardeners in our community garden planted them last year and they did great. It was a really cool plant. We're hot and humid here. Good luck! Tally HO! |

| I have tried a couple times without any results so I keep trying and reading anything I can find as I do enjoy the taste so am trying to grow at least one plant. Wikipedia says there is one "Northern Star" can take sub zero temps. I would keep trying some say they do need chill hours before them will really take off, but so far this hasn't worked for me. If nothing else we get a lot of experience finding out what works and what does so just go for it and watch and learn. |
