I'm on the coast of Texas. One of the gardeners in our community garden planted them last year and they did great. It was a really cool plant. We're hot and humid here.

I have tried a couple times without any results so I keep trying and reading anything I can find as I do enjoy the taste so am trying to grow at least one plant. Wikipedia says there is one "Northern Star" can take sub zero temps. I would keep trying some say they do need chill hours before them will really take off, but so far this hasn't worked for me. If nothing else we get a lot of experience finding out what works and what does so just go for it and watch and learn.
