| I had bearded iris in NC. I am new to the Louisiana Iris. Do I have to cut in a fan shape like I did with the bearded or just leave it as is til next spring? |

| You don't need to cut it. As it goes somewhat dormant in the summer you can take individual leaves off as they yellow and die--keeps it looking tidier. They're really easier than the TBs, which preferred to dry out in the summer and preferred to be by themselves. I grew bearded of all sizes in Nebraska before moving here, and I kinda miss them sometimes, but the LAs can just go in the border with other plants and need no special care--well, they prefer to be fed and weeded and watered with everything else, of course! |
