Trouble with loropetulum

Posted by vukibuki 8 MS gulf coast (My Page) on

I planted 7 loropetulums after the storm. Two already dead. SInce then I installed sprinkler system, now the other ones slowly loosing color/leaves. Any ideas what's going on? Before the storm the shrubs did great, but died later due to drought and debris removal. Since then I made raised beds with new soil. I read somehwere they need high PH. would that really kill them so fast?

Please, help! Thanks

RE: Trouble with loropetulum

They do better in an acidic ph. Also, they need/desire/demand good drainage! It could be that you are watering them too much.
