| My family and I recently purchased our first home in SWFL. Previously, we always lived in gated communities with St. Augustine Floratam and handy landscape gardeners that took care of our lawns for us. We are more than thrilled to finally have our own yard to tend. However, despite the gorgeous landscape, our lawn has been neglected for several years.
I think we have every variety of weed and grass possible in our region growing along side one another. In these hot, wet summer months, I have been told there isn't much I can do to rid my yard of weeds. I have spent countless hours outside pulling weeds, but seem to only end up with patches of dirt in between other patches of weeds.
Aside from ripping up the lawn and starting fresh, is there a way to safely and effective combat weeds in 90+ degree heat with rain each and every day? I hate to let the problem grow all summer. I have tried also vinegar spray which doesn't do the trick for the entire lawn.
