Pygmy goat - AGAIN!!!!

| Just went out to plant some seedlings and start some seeds. Our friendly neighborhood pygmy goat met me at the door. Once again, he began licking my knees.
I need my husband to get potting soil and starter mix out from the storage. It was put too high for me to reach when we were preparing for the storms.
When husband went outside, the goat went into attack mode. It is hilarious. Any time the goat sees my husband, he snorts, lowers his head, and paws the ground. We even stood inside the storm door and watched while PG performed. He actually butted the door in an attempt to get to my husband.
I was told by my son and his girlfriend that PG would attack. However, he has always been exceedingly friendly around me. My major complaint is that he likes my plants a little too much; treats them as snack food. I'm not too fond of the knee-licking either.

After our dog got out a few times to protect us from PG, husband decided it was time to take action. Unfortunately, action resulted in several plants being knocked over and uprooted. Husband put a leash on the goat and "led" him home. Leading a goat consists mainly of dragging while the goat tries to sit.

LOL. I have a Nubian goat and he is a mess too. I made the mistake of pushing his head while playing with him and now he wants to do that all the time. He will ram his head into my shins and it hurts! He's really a very friendly animal though and he will jump up into my lap if I let him. I think for the most part right now he's playing, but I fear when he gets older he may try to test my authority.

Oh, how funny! I want a little pet goat so bad. They are just so cute and someone is always selling them at the flea market. But my husband says I'll have to give up on growing flowers if I get one. Guess I'd rather grow flowers. I have a friend who told me she had a pet goat once that ate part of her car bumper!

I raised fainting goats for years, and still had landscaping around my pens. Unfortunately, keeping the landscaping also means keeping the goats in their own area and having good fences. My goats could be led through the landscaped areas quickly with food so that no damage would occur when moving them from pens to pasture. What I really liked about the goats was being able to tether a few in certain parts of my garden when the harvest was over. Goats got a treat, and I was saved the labor of cleaning it all up. Of course, make sure your goats are CD/T vaccinated before trying that. It could turn ugly if they should get "overeating disease". I now have sheep to work my stockdogs with and sheep are not nearly as fun. Cheers!
