fig leaf fall already (why?)

Seems that the leaves on my fig tree are falling off very early this year? Hundreds of small green fig are still on the tree. I don't think they'll ever ripen. My plan this winter is to prune the tree like last winter. The tree went absolutley crazy this spring and summer. It's about 3 times the size as last year. Very aggresive. But my question is about the leaves falling from the tree so early. Anyone else having this problem. I'm in Round Rock. Thanks.

RE: fig leaf fall already (why?)

Figs are strange things. Early leaf drop and then new flushes of growth with fruit are common. Mine have been dropping leaves for over a month and new flushes of leaves at the same time. Just when you think you will get another picking, the first frost zaps them
