Kiwis

Hello All,

First, please take a moment to look at my profile.

I have 2 self pollinating kiwis. My questions are these. Should they be planted now or switched to a larger pot to await Spring. I've read and been told by my local nursery to plant now. Thought I'd see how big a consesnsus I'd get.

Most importantly, do I need to beuild the entirity of the trellis now or will just the center beam be sufficient until Spring?

Is treated wood the best material for a trellis? What about plastics or even metals.

I've read that idealy the trunk should be in shade. Does this imply that kiwi should be planted in the shade? Rceive minimal direct sun? Or...?

Thanks for ANY help given. An answer to one part is more thaan I began with.

RE: Kiwis

Apparently there's not a big kiwi contingent on this forum... what did you decide? How's it going?
