Growing Fothergilla, witch alder

Has anyone grown this shrub successfully in the Houston area? It is such a lovely shrub, but I can't find out much about it for our area. Your response is appreciated!

I'm in the Houston area, and have never seen it. Had to google it to find out what it looks like. It may be something that does better in a cooler climate.
