amaryllis planted in the ground

I have a number of amaryllis planted in the ground in Houston. A "friend" (LOL) gave me a "lily" which I planted in the ground and is invasive. I believe these are swamp lilies. What I need to know is:
1) Is there any way to get rid of the swamp lilies without hurting the Amaryllis
2) what is the best time of year to trim the foliage back?
3) what is the best time of year to fertilize?
4) should I protect them from a freeze? How low a temperature should I worry about?
