Hi - I have some extra heavy cream, but it's a small amount. I've found several suggestions to turn it in to butter using a stand mixer. First, I don't have a stand mixer. Second, I have such a small amount, I don't think my food processor will work. Can I just use a hand mixer for this? Thanks!

Yep, I have a couple churns, one huge and uses a dasher, one is about a gallon capacity and uses a crank. Just put it in a mason jar and shake to poo out of it.

I used a jar when I was in college and would bring cream back from home. It works great. Just be sure the lid is a tight fit. Carol

Hand mixer or jar and shake. Both work. Save the buttermilk for biscuits! Deanna

Do you have a blender? It works well for us.
