Purdue is the best site ever for anything horticultural. I thought it was interesting that Purdue says they're "insipid" and lacking in commercial value. I assume they mean large-scale.

One thing I can't figure out is whether they're actually low-acid or merely higher in sugar. Chowhound has an interesting discussion on the uses for sweet lemons (limited) and on the differences between sweet lemons and other varieties such as Meyer.
