I have a few large glass jars I intend to make pickles in but in looking for a crock (pricey) for making a large amount of kraut, I came across buckets for beer making. I'm assuming that since they are supposed to be food grade, they would be suitable for a large batch of kraut? Lori

Also, someone mentioned using yogurt cultures in making kraut. I'm looking at some online right now, is there a special kind I need? Lori

I own a beer and wine supplies store, and I use a beer fermenter for my kraut, and I have sold several for the same thing . They are 6.5 gals.
