Lowes canning jars - what am I missing?

I am researching canning jars, and these jars at Lowe's look to be about half the price of most of what I can find online, and at least $4 cheaper than the cheapest I found elsewhere. It seems like I am missing something - is this really a complete set of 12 jars/lids/bands for just over $8?

Thanks!

That's about right, maybe a little high for pints. Were they pints or quarts?

Pints - I meant to post the link, but forgot. Wow - I must not be looking in the right places. Everything I can find is much higher!

Yep that is about average. There are a couple of places around here that are cheaper. All depends on what stores you have to choose from. Where else have you been looking?

I was looking online mostly. Ventured out today and found some pint jars in my local Big Lots for $7.25/dozen :-)

Never buy canning jars online. The postage costs will exceed the price of the jars in small quantities.
Ace Hardware online will deliver to your local Ace Hardware at no cost. You just pick them up at your local Ace when they arrive in a week or so (most Ace Hardware stores carry canning supplies anyway.) But if they don't. I just picked up a case of half gallon jars for $11.99 by that method.

I just got 3 dozen quart jars (golden harvest) at it was either family dollar or dollar general (cant remember which) for like $8.80 per dozen. Pints were cheaper like $8.50 I think but not positive.

Buy only Bell jars. Not ones made in China.

Golden Harvest is made in the U.S.A. Unless of course that is the city in China. They used to have a city in China named USA so they could put made in USA on their products don't know if they still do that or not.
