Is it safe to blanch vegetables in aluminum pots?

I'm going to freeze a bushel of okra. I would like to use our oyster cooker w/basket to blanch in 2 batches. Then I'll drop into a large cooler filled with ice water. This way I can do it fast, outside & not heat the house. I researched on google & didn't really find anything to contraindicate. What do you think? For some reason I have in the back of my head that it's not a good idea. Any help is appreciated!

Safe yes. The issue isn't safety but flavor and color changes as the acidic vegetable interacts with the aluminum. The blanch time is 3-4 min. for okra so IMO not really long enough to be an issue. Especially since okra isn't very acidic.
