Does anyone have safe recipes for canning dry beans? Even canning them plain? I am new to pressure canning and thought this would be a cheap way to start trying. Thank you in advance!

Hi Jamie - NCHFP provides all the instructions for canning any dried beans. See link below. You can also find the instructions there for canning baked beans, beans in tomato sauce or molasses, or canning soups using dried beans. Dave

Thank you Dave, I tried to find this link earlier! It says to add beans and cooking liquid to jars, but it does not have a ratio. Should I worry about getting to many beans in the jar or is there a rule of thumb I should follow? First time using a pressure canner, kind of nervous!

Should I worry about getting to many beans in the jar or is there a rule of thumb I should follow? Yep that is a valid concern because the beans will swell. I find that filling the jar with 2/3 beans and 1/3 liquid works good for me. Some recommend 3/4 full of beans and 1/4 liquid but I prefer to have a little left over liquid in my jars. If first time with the PC also be sure to read the step by step guide for using a PC at NCHFP too. It is much better instructions than any canner manual has. Just take your time this first couple of times and you'll do fine. Dave
