| page 80 of BBB Recipe calls for 9 dried hot chili peppers. Is this what it is talking about? They are pretty big peppers. Just want to make sure I'm making this Sunday. Thanks!! |

| Yes that is what they mean if you don't have any of your own. But I'd suggest you start with only 4-5 and then taste it before adding more. If you have made it before and like it really hot, fine. But if not, taste as you go. You can always add more up to the amount called for but you can't remove them if it is too hot for your taste buds so no need to waste them if not needed. Dave |

| Thanks Dave! I have not made it before so, I think I will start out slow. lol What about jalapenos? It calls for 6 that sure seems like a lot. Can I reduce that and the recipe still be safe? |
|
| Yes you can always reduce low-acid ingredients without affecting safety but you can never increase the amount of them. As I said in your other post you can sub like for like and you can leave things out but you can't increase any of the vegetables beyond what is called for in the recipe. Dave |

| Ok, I will let you know how it turns out! |
|
| I did use only 4 dried chili peppers. I did use the 6 jalapenos the recipe called. Its pretty spicy. I will probably use 4 next time. |

| Beautiful! Make notes now while you remember what you did this time and what you want to adjust next time. Deanna |
|
| I did do that. Because I made a few things last year and can't remember what's what. lol |
