Dehydrators

Looking for a good dehydrator. I will be drying garden fruit & veggies. Tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, carrots, etc.

I have a cheap one now that is basically a heating unit and a tower, no fan. This works fine for peppers & mushrooms, but the wetter veggies like tomatoes get moldy before they get dry.

I would appreciate any insites (good & bad) you have had with various dehydrators. I am looking for a high quality for large quantities of produce. Not commercial quanties but I do have a 1.5 acre veggie garden. I already can and freeze and am looking for another way to preserve the harvest.

I don't want to throw my money away on a machine, but if the quality is there I don't mine spending what it takes to get a good one.

As far as expandable, I am up in the air whether I want something that can expand or a "fixed" model like the excalibur. Any experiences you can share will help.

Thanks, J

Thanks for the link. I went with the Cabelas 80L. Should arrive next Thurs :), just in time for strawberry season.
