| My question is do you not add any water to the syrup mixture
most of the recipes I have read for the 9 day sweet pickles included water with the vinegar and sugar. Example: 1 pint vinegar 1 quart water 4 cups sugar 1 oz. celery seed, all spice, cinnamon Would the above syrup be safe to use? Thank you |

| Sorry I forgot to ask it you can add a couple drops of green food coloring to the syrup before you can them, Thank you |

| No, you don't add water. Mine are sweet, good spices, crunchy. Just plain good. Yes, you can add food coloring. The other recipe has more water than vinegar. You always have to have at least 1/2 of the brine to be 5 % acidity to water ratio. |

| Thank you Linda Lou for answering my questions, I am on the second day of heating the syrup they will soon be ready to can. |
