How long do tomatoes take to thaw?

Hi - I am going to be putting up salsa tomorrow and hope to start in the morning. I have the tomatoes in my freezer right now. I'm wondering how I should thaw them - should I put them in a strainer in the sink overnight or put them in the refridgerator in the bags overnight? I probably want to start by 9:00 am. Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't think you want them sitting out uncovered all night. I usually take the bags out of the freezer and just set the bags in the sink before going to bed the night before. They are still somewhat icy the next morning.

If I forget to take them out the night before then in the morning I just put the bags in the sink with some hot water.
