I'm visiting the parents. They have zillions of ripe, tasty crabapples. They are tiny, but perfect. I have jam jars here, but no jelly bag. What else could I do with such pretty fruit? My dad likes home made jam!

You don't have to have a jelly bag if you can find an old pillowcase, a cotton tea towel, anything like that. Cheesecloth. Just line a colander with something. However, pickled crab apples are really good !

We just canned some using a spiced apple rings recipe. Everyone thought they were great, but our crabapples are a little bigger--just under the size of a golf ball.

my sis-in-law made apple butter from hers. It tasted amazing!
