Exploding rhubarb chutney in England

Anybody seen this article about exploding rhubarb chutney that blew the door off the fridge? It doesn't say anything in particular about how the food was canned, although it is common there to skip the BWB.

This is also a good reminder to take the rings off before we store the jars.
