| I sent my DH to the store for the required tomato sauce, specifying plain, not flavored in any way. He returned with 'no salt added'. Advice? |

| Don't know that I'd accept the "safety police" label but the salt free sauce is no safety issue. Salt is only a flavoring agent, so optional, in anything except fermentation. Dave |

| Perhaps I should have said, Safety expert! Thanks for the info. I reviewed the 2012 thread on the details. Since the instructions are so specific, I wanted to be sure. Thanks for the quick reply. |
