| So... I planted radish seeds next to pole bean seeds, my radishes have grown radishes at the base AND green beans have sprouted from the top! They beans taste just like radishes! Has anyone ever heard of this before?! I can send a pic if anyone is interested :) |

| Your radishes have gone to seed. They sent up flower stalks which developed into the pods which look somewhat like beans. And yes, they do taste like radishes and are edible....some radish varieties are grown mostly for the seed pods. If you let the pods mature and dry, they will be filled with radish seeds that you can grow later. But for good radish roots you need to harvest them before the plant flowers. The roots get tough and fibrous when the plant sends up the flowering stalk. Planting the radishes and beans close to each other had nothing to do with the pods forming. It's just what maturing radishes do wherever they are. |
