Guess I gotta find some French tarragon - couldn't find seeds so didn't grow it this year, and I remember someone saying what is normally in stores is Russian (?) and not as good for cornichons. So what to do with these couple of 3"?

You can't grow French tarragon from seed. You need to find a plant. The supermarkets in our area carry vacuum packed tarragon but I've never bought it. I vote for making the pickles with the same recipe, just no tarragon. It does impart a wonderful taste. I haven't check the acidity level of tarragon vinegar but perhaps you can use that. Pricey thoug.
