I want to take some fresh basil to work to share with my co-workers. Is it ok to just put some leaves in a baggie? I don't want it to be moldy or stinky when they open the bag. (I'm thinking of individual bags for each person).

Why don't you arrange the basil stems in a vase with water & carry in some plastic baggies. Your friends can pack their own.

Basil wilts very quickly unless you transport it while it is in water. Tried this and know from experience. Cindy

I agree, in water is best. However, if you just can't transport in a vase, you can wrap the stems in a very damp paper towel and place in a large ziploc bag with the top left open. I second the opinion to let them take the amount they want. Deanna
