What size Excalibur food dehydrator to get

Posted by guysmom z9CA (My Page) on

I am planning on getting an Excalibur food dehydrator and wondering what size to get. There is just my husband and myself at home now, but we have 11 apple trees, 4 peaches, 1 nectarine, 1 pear, and 2 plums. We also raise vegetables, but on a much smaller scale, but I sometimes go overboard with tomatoes. I am planning on canning also, but like to dry food because it takes up less space than canned. Any suggestions? Your help is appreciated.

We have a 5 tray. We need a 9 tray.

Get the 9 tray. You will not be sorry!

Suggest that you do a search for the key words 'excalibur' and/or 'dehydrator'. It should bring up many threads about the subject already posted here.

Here is a link that might be useful: Dehydrator threads search

Agree. Especially might want to read the one about problems with this particular brand. Not near as sold on it as I used to be. We decided to just stick with our American Harvester since it is faster.

Thanks for the help. I just ordered the 9 tray from Pleasant Hill Grains.
