Any bad importer jars out there?

I was talking to someone at work and they said that they had heard of cheap flimsy not very safe canning jars from china. I think I will stick with the known Ball and Kerr brands, any thoughts or advice? Thanks

Stick with Ball, Kerr, and Golden Harvest. From what I have read Mainstay and Better Home & Gardens are the jars they were talking about avoiding.

There are some Euro brands that are very nice and quite safe but also quite expensive.

You should probably look over the shrink wrap packaging in the store before you buy and reject any that show signs of rough handling. Jar packaging just ain't what it used to be.

Hey folks, if it is anywhere close to being the same price, as jars are, why don't you just buy US made. You are assisting in employing fellow Americans. If we make nothing anymore, we will all be unhappy and have a very low standard of living.
We also complain so much about not being able to find things made in America. Here we don't have a problem and yet for some, it is still a dilemma.
