Just picked up 5 boxes of fresh, tree ripe peaches from the orchard in Palisade, CO. These are lovely, sweet peaches, not like hard store bought, so now I have my work cut out in canning this week. One of the jams I tried at the orchard was a peach brandy jam. It listed peach brandy in the ingredients, which I've been looking up and it seems is a fermented type made with peaches, sugar, and water, left to sit. I do have a gallon glass jar that could be used. Anyone have experience making this? Or should I just buy the stuff in the liquor store and not waste my time.

Buy the stuff in the liquor store. Not only will it be a much better quality but by the time you could make your own - takes years - those peaches will be long past canning. :) Dave

Thanks Dave! Plan was to start the brandy, then freeze some peaches to use for the jam in 6mo or so when the liqueur was ready. Ps--the propane stove you recommend was amazing on our weekend camping trip. Can't wait to use for outdoor canning! Carrie
