Help, my dad got me a case of pickles at the market and once again the seller promised fresh pickles but the pickles are soft. Yeah, even the farmer's market are not what they used to be. 50$ for a bushel of soft pickles. I was going to make bread and butter pickles but now feel like throwing all in the trash....arghhhh. Any way to recrisp pickles so I can do something with them!

Try soaking them in ice water for a few hours (I've left mine in ice water - with lots of ice - for up to 8 hours). I'm assuming you meant cucumbers, not already prepared pickles. ?

That's the big advantage to growing your own whenever possible. Agree that an ice water soak is the best option. Adding some Pickle Crisp to the water will also help. B&B pickles are soft by nature so other than relishes it is the best use for soft cukes. Dave
