| We used this approved recipe http://nchfp.uga.edu/how/can_06/dilled_beans.html It looks like they came out great . . . but I did notice something that I hope isn't a problem. Some beans are sticking out of the vinegar mixture. Is this okay? |
Follow-Up Postings:
| It happens sometimes. Beans left too long for size of jar, air left in jars or boil-over is usual cause. The part above will discolor so just cut it off after opening. Dave |
| Thanks Dave. Glad to hear it isn't unsafe :) |
| Dave I just measured and found the problem. I left 3/4" headroom! Now what? |
| Now what? 10 lashes with a dilly bean! :) Nothing to do about it now. Just trim the darkened ends after opening. Make a margin note for next time to double check. Dave |
| lol Phew I feel like I dodged a bullet for some reason! |
