blueberry lime jam question

My question is do you measure the blueberries before you crush them or after. If you are supposed to measure after crushing them I do not have enough and didn't even think about it when I was going grocery shopping for the stuff for it. Thank you in advance :)

That recipe reads: 4 1/2 C blueberries (not 4 1/2 C crushed blueberries). Following that - Crush blueberries one layer at a time and combine with pectin.

I've taken that to mean, measure first, crush after. It sets that way, not too stiff so my best guess is I'm doing it right and not too few berries :)
