Pickling brine - how to "evenly divide"?

Hi - I am planning on using this recipe to make pickled okra, but I don't know how to evenly divide things like mustard seed and dill seed after they have been boiled in the vinegar brine. Should I just divide the total brine the best I can and get "close enough"?
