| Hi - I am planning on using this recipe to make pickled okra, but I don't know how to evenly divide things like mustard seed and dill seed after they have been boiled in the vinegar brine. Should I just divide the total brine the best I can and get "close enough"? http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/spicy-pickled-okra-recipe.print.html# |

| With that recipe that is about all you can do - divide as best you can. Use tea strainer or skimmer to skim the spices and solids out and divide them and then pour in the brine. Other recipes call for placing them all into a spice bag fro boiling. Then all you have to do is remove the spice bag, open it and divide the contents into the jars. Dave |
