Red/green toms?

Can red toms be substituted in recipes calling for green or tomatillas? Lori

Yes but you may have to include acid if none is called for or increase the added acid. Green tomatoes are more much acidic than ripe tomatoes.

So if it is something like pickled green tomatoes, no problem. But if it is a salsa or something with other low acid ingredients you'd have to increase the acidity or find a similar recipe that calls for using ripe tomatoes. Ok?
