| I made strawberry black pepper jam from the Mes Confitures book yesterday. I didn't have any mint ( it died from the heat this summer so I will start more this fall) so I made the recipe with just the strawberries and black pepper. It jelled perfectly without added pectin and tastes amazing!
This recipe is really worth making. I will make it again and again, assuming I can get decent strawberries. Although it takes three days, total hands on time is minimal. Also, I recently purchased a large, ceramic Dutch oven from Lodge. I used it for my jam pan and it worked perfectly. I spent $34.00 for it on Amazon and I'm so glad I didn't sound a bunch of money on a jam pan. I'd highly recommend this pot if you're trying to figure out what to make jam in. |
