| Are the Golden Harvest jars as good, or not as good, as the Ball brand? I have read they are from the same company but not quite as good.
I was in Big Lots this evening. They have Golden Harvest quart jars for $8.00. They had GH pints and jelly jars for $7.25 (case prices) I can buy Ball brand quarts at pints at Crest Foods (OKC area) for around $8 to $9 or so at this current time. About 6 weeks ago they had Ball brand pints on sale for $5.99 and Ball quarts on sale for $6.99. I should have REALLY stocked up then. (If anyone is in the OKC area Crest kicks walmarts tail every day on prices.) If the price is that close would you choose one or the other? I asked the Big Lots manager if they were going on clearance and she said they NEVER put them on clearance.
Thanks for your thoughts. Gene |

| Golden Harvest are just fine. Been using them for decades with no problems. They tend to have some tiny bubbles in the glass now and then, are shaped a bit differently, and there maybe a seam that isn't as smooth but it is primarily just an appearance issue not a strength issue. Dave |

| I haven't had problems with Golden Harvest either. While most of my jars are Ball or Kerr, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the Golden Harvest if the price were better. Carol |

| Big Lots routinely does a 20% off day every few months. And if you have one of their Buzz Club cards and spend over $20 on ten visits, you get 20% off on any given visit you choose within the next two months. It doesn't have to be the next visit, but it does expire. |
