What is a hot green pepper? A jalepeno?

Just checking, as I may make it if it gets the thumbs up!

Seems like an enormous amount of sugar.

My friend that gave me the recipe uses whatever hot pepper she has at the time, usually jalepeno.
This recipe tastes great, so I would like to try it if it checks out. Otherwise, the BBB ketchup recipe is somewhat similar so I will go with that one to be safe.

Note the BBB recipe calls for more tomatoes, more vinegar and much less onion and sugar. So it will be more acidic pH. You can use the BBB recipe and sub the hot peppers for some of the sweet peppers in the BBB recipe and add more sugar to taste with the BBB recipe with no problem.

This one could be ok but needs more added acid and I am always suspicious of recipes that provide no processing times. Sure signal it is an untested one.
