| We did it again! Last year it was Annie's Salsa that won 1st place in the salsa group at my local fair, then went on to win the top pickled food at the local fair as a Double Blue Ribbon Winner!
This year the Roasted Garlic Tomato Soup won a Blue Ribbon and Linda Lou's Zucchini relish won a Red (2nd place) Ribbon. Congratulations Linda Lou! One of my neighbors loves it and says it goes great on hamburgers! I not exactly sure where the harvest forum got the Roasted Garlic Tomato Soup recipe, but we already know it's a winner! If you know who gets credit, let me know! June Lynn |

| June Lynn, I think that comes from KatieC, from the cooking forum. (Yay to you for caring about attribution!) Congrats to you and your recipe sources on the blue ribbons! Z |

| Congratulations on the awards! Way to go. Did you notice a big increase in the number of entries this year? We sure did. And in the crowd numbers in the foods hall this year too. It's great to see so many new folks talking an interest in food preservation. :) Dave |

| I'm not sure about the amount of canners and any increase in participants, but I do know the Cooperative Extension had to have two more canning classes this year, in the evenings, as all her classes got full and there was much more demand. The co-op lady is the one that pushes me to enter the fair. Originally, I wasn't going to do it this year. But I did, and I won again. I've got my eye on Linda Lou's SWEET APPLE RELISH for an entry for next year! I think the judges are intrigued by something new and different. Everyone on this forum deserves to play a part in those ribbons. I'm just bragging on you guys all the time. How you push to do it correctly and properly, keeping safety in mind, along with the hard work and joy from it. June Lynn

| Why not a resurgance of the country fair I say! Sure beats sitting at home watching TV or doing video games. And is a cheap hobby too, if you consider what the price would be of buying all those hand crafted goodies! America is getting poorer in money, but we may discover ways to be richer in spirit! |

| Congrats on the ribbons as well! I will see this weekend how many canners there are for our big fair. The fair starts this Saturday. Usually the shelves are packed at our large fair. In fact they added circular displays for all the 1st and 2nd's and the display Blues were on the top of the circular displays. The county fair in August the canning shelves were extremely sparse. I didn't do as much as I usually do for this week, only 7 items, no displays. The winning spaghetti sauce at the office 6 out of 6 liked the Roasted Italian Seasoned Sauce over the Tomato Basil Dave, I hear from many people they are returning or starting canning..just hope they are following the new guidelines!

| I did not win, YOU did !!! I am very happy for you and proud of you, too ! Congratulations to you. I also think it is great on burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. My mom was from the south and she ate it on top of her pinto beans. |
